This site is designed to provide information about the Processing and Cognitive Enhancement (P.A.C.E.) program. The Program is geared towards assisting children ages 6-19 years in improving their memory, attention spans, mental abilities, concentration and learning skills. Some children have trouble listening, following directions and doing homework. These children are often labeled lazy, unmotivated and unconcerned. Often, the real problem is not a lack of motivation or proper instruction. Rather, the problem is a lack of processing skills. In other words, the child may be able to see or hear information, but he/she cannot identify, interpret, comprehend, remember or stay on task. If you have such a child in your family, call or e-mail us today, because expertise of skilled professionals is required to diagnose and treat learning difficulties such as these. Our Processing and Cognitive Enhancement program is an intense method that strengthens learned cognitive skills. We train the entire learning system to function properly as it should.

How Does A Processing Problem Affect A Child?
Young children want to be successful in school. They want to be liked and accepted. Naturally, they cannot understand why learning is so difficult for them when it isn't for thier classmates. They feel that something is wrong with them, and it's not getting better. For children with this problem, it can be devastating The parents are often at a loss as to what to do. Usually, they have examined all ordinary physical reasons for the behavior without obtaining a concrete explanation as to the cause. But what these children really need is a program like PACE. PACE will discover the processing skills that are not sufficient for proper learning and will train and strengthen them so that they are sufficient. Without these skills, it will be almost impossible for a child to learn and succeed. This is because children who lack processing skills tend to avoid their schoolwork because it is difficult, discouraging and frustrating. It's safe to predict that a child like this is already a potential dropout by age nine.
Could Your Child Be At Risk?
PACE can diagonose and successfully treat learning problems that are often reflected in the following behaviors: | -Is unable to sit still, cannot stay on task for any length of time. -Is easily distracted. -Avoids work that seems complicated or hard. -Has difficulty comprehending and remembering. -Has problems sounding out words. -Does written work very slowly; often fails to complete a task. -Has difficulty copying material; constantly looks up and down. -Often needs instructions repeated. -Has troubles reading and spelling. -Makes reversals--for example: confusing the words "was" and "saw" or letters "b" and "d". -Is disorganized and frustrated when studying. -Makes frequent, "careless" errors. PACE May Be The Very Answer You Seek If your child, age 6-19, has one or more of these behaviors, call today to schedule a free screening for cognitive processing problems. It could be the most important phone call you make during his or her school years. The free screening includes an evaluation of attention, short-term memory, long-term retrieval, processing speed, sound blending and visual and auditory processing. You are a loving and concerned parent who would do anything for your child. Making an appointment with us may mean giving your child that chance for success other children enjoy.
